ACQG presents a major area quilt show every other year (biennially)..

Our Opportunity Quilt “Nature’s Beauty” was made by Guild Members and exquisitely quilted by Ramona Thompson.  The quilt was appraised at $2,859.00 and wants you to take it home.  Your donation of $1.00 per ticket, (or 12 for $10.00 or 24 for $20.00) will give you that opportunity. Our 2017 Festival of Quilts: “Springtime in Mobile” was held at the Abba Shrine Center, 7701 Hitt Rd., Mobile, AL 36695 on Friday May 5th & Saturday May 6th, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.     Our Show Quilt was called “Azalea City in Bloom.” Georgia McCain and Ann Singleton were the Co-Chairmen of our 2017 Quilt Show.  It was one of the most successful shows in a long time. Location, teamwork and strong leadership were the hallmarks.

Our 2015 show was held Friday and Saturday, April 17th and 18th at Expo Hall in the Mobile Civic Center, 401 Civic Center Drive, Mobile, AL 36602.  Under the expert leadership of Elaine Williams many new exhibits were introduced.  There was a Quilt of Valor exhibit, a History of Quilts exhibit and a display of  the Linus Quilts donated every year.  A highlight of the show was a presentation of Quilts of Valor each day to deserving veterans to show our appreciation for their dedication and courage.  Each received a Quilt of Valor as a warm hug. The Basket Auction was an eye catching display that earned  kudos for our non-profit organization.

Our 2013 show, Quilts of the Gulf Coast, was held in May at the Mobile Alabama Cruise Terminal.  Over 300 quilts were showcased.  There were special quilt exhibits and demonstrations by Rhonda Blasingame from Mississippi, and Carol Thompson from Fairhope.  The 2013 show included a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, a Unique Boutique, vendors with fabric, quilting machines and cabinets, a Quilter’s Basket Auction, and a group of Azalea Trail Maids looking lovely and reminding participants that Mobile is the Azalea City.
